    When you are angry…

    1. Vent your anger
    2. However, if you dish it out, you have to take it too. Be ready to accept the consequences of your actions
    3. Never say, “Don’t be upset” to someone who is angry
    4. Ventilate your ire with a trusted friend or write it in a letter, rather than confronting the irritant right away.
    5. Get a physical outlet for aggression. Take up sports or go have a workout.

    What is a mantra? According to Random House Webster’s Electronic Dictionary and Thesaurus, a mantra is (1) A sacred word or formula repeated as an incantation; or (2) Any often repeated word, formula or stock phrase.

    My mantras are short phrases that I repeat to myself every so often to remind me to act in ways that will bring me closer to the life I want to have. These help me stay focused, positive, and energetic, and keep me from falling into self-defeating patterns.
