How to enjoy budget trip to Bohol Philippines

January 5th, 2009Cebu/Bohol, TravelsIt’s easy to go to Bohol island from Cebu city. We took Weesam fast craft from Cebu pier 4 to Tagbilaran port. Well, although it is called fast craft, the trip still took more than 2 hours.
Once arrived at Tagbilaran port, there would be a lot of private tour van. Find one that could tour you around all the site in bohol island. Total time is around 8 hours, and the cost for the van and driver should be just around 2500 to 2000 pesos.
Out of all the places, the 2 famous sites are chocolate hills, and tarsier habitant. Chocolate hills are some hills that shaped like hersey’s kisses chocolates. But as a Chinese, I wouldn’t even want to put the picture here because to me, they looks like……
Tarsiers are the smallest monkey in the world. You could touch it, hold it, feed it. But do not use camera flash. They are very sensitive type of animal, and if they feel they couldn’t bear the agony, they would commit suicide by bumping their own head against the tree.
Before the sun went down, we finally checked in at Bohol Beach Resort.
The resort was great! The so called best resort on the Bohol island has great view, great style, great beach, great swimming pool, and great international food. But their room is very very disappointing. Maybe not even as good as a high class motel. We walked to the resort beside it, and they have much better room with much cheaper rates.

The room of Bohol beach resort is simple very plain looking. There isn’t any facilities inside the room. Only 2 bed, one desk and few lumps. No tv and anything else. Not even slippers. The rest room is only a sink and a very small shower area. To make a vacation enjoyable, just make sure you don’t stay in the room. But that’s what most visitors are doing anyway.

Aww… It’s nice of you to be so appreciative of some of the great spots in the Philippines. =) If there is no insurgency on the rise, I would have recommended a visit to Kidapawan City in Mindanao. The city is located at the foot of the highest mountain in the Philippines. I’m sure you’ll love it there. =)
