My Mantras for Life

January 19th, 2009Random ThoughtsWhat is a mantra? According to Random House Webster’s Electronic Dictionary and Thesaurus, a mantra is (1) A sacred word or formula repeated as an incantation; or (2) Any often repeated word, formula or stock phrase.
My mantras are short phrases that I repeat to myself every so often to remind me to act in ways that will bring me closer to the life I want to have. These help me stay focused, positive, and energetic, and keep me from falling into self-defeating patterns.
So here they are…
- Less serious, more fun!
- Don’t aim for perfection. Perfection is unattainable. It is our flaws that make us unique and beautiful.
- 4 C’s: Confident, Cool, Calm, and Collected
- Less fearful, more daring
- Health before wealth. Cultivate a fit and active mind and body. Adopt a more healthy lifestyle.
- Financial freedom
- Be a fruitful tree. Be the best that you can be. Don’t waste your talents and the chances that come your way. Like a fruitful tree, don’t just take up space and waste the earth’s nutrients.
- Less analysis, more action! Too much analysis can be paralyzing. Thinking too much can trap you in fear of imaginary scenarios that might never happen in real life.
- Grow my web. Develop more meaningful relationships in my life. Talk to more people. Get to know others better.
- Grow myself. Learn from my past mistakes, overcome weaknesses, and develop new ways of coping with stress and anxiety that are more healthy and positive. Become more mature.
