It seems to me lots of people (myself included) are fascinated by “signs”. We eagerly look for  signs in our daily lives – perhaps to make it easier for us to make a hard decision, or to confirm or validate  a decision that we already made. In the face of challenging situations, we sometimes even pray to God to send us a sign of some sort…

But is there really some value to these “signs”? It seems to me that almost anything and everything can be a sign – if you want it to be. Sometimes, we’re so desperate for some sort of validation that we see signs in even the most ordinary things. It’s almost like a game – our mind plays tricks on us. But I’m beginning to believe that it’s not so much the “signs” we see, but rather our interpretations of these signs that really gets us. Two persons can look at exactly same thing and have a totally different understanding of it. Go figure. I suppose there isn’t any harm in believing in signs, if believing makes it easier for us to cope with the ups and downs of life. If it helps give us some measure of comfort, or some illusion of control over our lives. As long as we don’t rely on signs to make all our life decisions, that is.
